ZOSTUM 1.5GM INJECTION is a combination of Cefoperazone and Sulbactam, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage various bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections (upper and lower), intra-abdominal infections, septicaemia (serious bloodstream infection), meningitis (inflammation of brain and spinal cord membranes, typically caused by an infection), and skin and soft tissue infections.
It is also used to manage bone and joint infections, gonorrhoea (sexually transmitted bacterial infection), endometritis (inflammation of the uterine lining due to infection), pelvic inflammatory disease (infection of the female reproductive organs), and other infections of the genital tract.
Bacterial infections are caused by the multiplication of specific harmful strains of bacteria anywhere in the body. It is characterized by symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, headache, tiredness, and swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits, groin, or elsewhere.
Before receiving ZOSTUM 1.5GM INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have impaired kidney function, severe biliary obstruction (blockage of the bile ducts), severe liver disease, or malabsorption conditions, and have a schedule for laboratory tests (such as measuring glucose in the urine).
ZOSTUM 1.5GM INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if advised by the doctor. Also, it should be used with caution in children and elderly patients.
The most common side effects of receiving ZOSTUM 1.5GM INJECTION are diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects bother you.
