ZOCEF DRY SYRUP contains Cefuroxime which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to manage bacterial infections such as pharyngitis and tonsillitis (upper respiratory tract infection), acute bacterial otitis media (infection of the middle ear), cystitis (infection of the urinary bladder), pyelonephritis (infection affecting the kidneys), acute bacterial maxillary sinusitis (infection of the nasal cavity and sinuses), and impetigo (infection of the skin).

Before starting the management, your doctor may want to do some tests to know the type of bacteria causing the infection and monitor bacterial sensitivity to ZOCEF DRY SYRUP during the management. Before giving ZOCEF DRY SYRUP to your child, inform your doctor if your child is allergic (hypersensitive) to cefuroxime, any other group of cephalosporins and penicillin antibiotics.

Before giving ZOCEF DRY SYRUP to your child, inform your doctor if your child have or had any heart problems, liver or kidney problems. During the therapy, your doctor would regularly monitor your child’s health to avoid the risk of side effects.

Your doctor will prescribe the right dose and duration depends on the child’s age, body weight and health condition, so stick to the dose, time, and duration prescribed by the doctor.  Minor and temporary side effects may be experienced after the intake of this medicine. These includes dizziness, diarrhoea and sickness.

Generally, these effects subside once the child’s body adapts to the medicine. However, in case of prolonged or bothersome events, consult your doctor immediately without any delay. Inform your doctor about your child’s complete medical history including any previous episodes of allergies.
