ZILSMART 40MG TABLET contains Azilsartan which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-hypertensives. It is used to manage high blood pressure (hypertension). This medicine used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents.
High blood pressure (hypertension) is the force that a person’s blood exerts against the walls of their blood vessels. This pressure depends on the resistance of the blood vessels and how hard the heart has to work.
Along with the management with ZILSMART 40MG TABLET your doctor might ask you to make some lifestyle changes such as exercising often, limit salt intake, managing stress, weight management and quit alcohol and smoking. Prior to the management your doctor might want you take some blood tests to assess your condition.
Before taking ZILSMART 40MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have kidney, heart or liver disease, diabetes, primary hyperaldosteronism (disease of adrenal gland), aortic or mitral valve stenosis (narrowing of valves in heart, and obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (abnormal increase in the thickness of heart muscles).
ZILSMART 40MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnancy and breast-feeding women. Consult your doctor before taking.
ZILSMART 40MG TABLET should not be given to children and adolescents (under 18 years of age) without prior consultations.
The most common side effects are dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, feeling tired, muscle spasms and low blood pressure. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects worsens with time.
