ZIENAM 500/500MG INJECTION is a combination of Cilastatin and Imipenem which belong to the group of medicines called Carbapenem Antibiotics. It is used to kill a wide range of bacterial infection in various parts of the body in adults and children. It is used in the management of complicated infections in the stomach, urinary tract, skin and soft tissue, lung infections (pneumonia) or infections during or post-delivery.
It may be used to manage patients with low white blood cell count having fever that may be caused due to a bacterial infection or in patients having bacterial infection of blood.
Before receiving ZIENAM 500/500MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have colitis or other gastrointestinal disease, kidney or urinary problems, any central nervous system disorders such as localized tremors or epileptic seizures and liver problems.
ZIENAM 500/500MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women unless advised by the doctor. It is not recommended for use in children aged under 1 year and children with kidney problems.
The most common side effects associated with the use of ZIENAM 500/500MG INJECTION are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, swelling and redness along a vein (extremely tender to touch) and rash. Inform your doctor immediately if any of the side effect worsens or persist for a long period of time.
