XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) contains Filgrastim which belongs to the group of medicines called Cytokines. XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) is used to increase the number of white blood cells to manage infections after chemotherapy management and bone marrow transplant. XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) is also used before high-dose chemotherapy to make the bone marrow produce more stem cells after management. It is also used to manage infections in patients suffering from severe chronic neutropenia (rare blood disorder marked by abnormal white blood cell levels). The medicine is also indicated for use to reduce the risk of infections in patients with advanced HIV infection.
XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Filgrastim. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hereditary fructose intolerance (rare genetic disorder marked by inability of the body to break down fructose). Before receiving XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS), inform your doctor if you suffer from sickle cell anemia (inherited blood disorder), osteoporosis (condition marked by weak and gentle bones), and/or have kidney/liver problems.
XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) is generally not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor. The most common side effects of receiving XGRAST 300MCG INJECTION(PFS) are anemia, headache, decreased appetite, nausea, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, and/or unusual hair loss.
