VONO 20 TABLET is used in the management of Gastro-intestinal reflux disease (GERD), reflux or erosive esophagitis, heartburn, acidity, stomach ulcers and other complications caused due to excessive stomach acid secretions. It can also be used as an adjunctive therapy for eradication of Helicobacter pylori infection in combination with antibiotics (like amoxicillin and clarithromycin).
VONO 20 TABLET contains Vonoprazan which is a Potassium Competitive Acid Blocker (P-CAB). It works by blocking a specific protein in the stomach lining which is crucial for producing stomach acid. By inhibiting it, vonoprazan effectively reduces the amount of acid the stomach produces.
Vonoprazan reduces stomach acid more effectively than traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), creating a less acidic environment which helps the antibiotics work better by increasing their stability and concentration in the stomach, making it easier to eradicate the H. pylori bacteria. VONO 20 TABLET is suitable for use only in adults.
Before taking VONO 20 TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have low blood magnesium levels, calcium and potassium levels or if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The most common side effects of taking VONO 20 TABLET are stomach pain, indigestion, diarrhea, constipation, bloating, high blood pressure, headache, changes in taste sense, vaginal yeast infection and cold-like symptoms. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.
