VIRALEX TABLET contains Inosine Pranobex which belongs to the group of medicines called Antivirals. It is used to manage Herpes virus infection, Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis. It is also used to manage genital warts in combination with other management such as podophyllin or carbon dioxide laser. An infection caused by the Herpes simplex virus which usually causes lesions on oral mucosa, genitals and skin. Subacute Sclerosing Panencephalitis (SSPE) is a rare complication of persistent measles infection that causes a progressive neurological disorder affecting the central nervous system (in children and young adults). A sexually transmitted disease caused by the virus human papilloma virus (HPV), resulting in a small lump or swelling on the genitals. During management with VIRALEX TABLET your doctor might conduct blood test and urine test to determine the liver and kidney function. VIRALEX TABLET is not recommended for use in patients suffering from gout and who have high uric acid levels in their blood. VIRALEX TABLET should be used with caution in patients suffering from kidney disease, urolithiasis (type of kidney stones) and gall bladder stones. Consult your doctor before taking. VIRALEX TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless clearly necessary. It is not known whether VIRALEX TABLET passes into milk during breastfeeding. Consult your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of taking VIRALEX TABLET are nausea, vomiting, stomach discomfort, increased uric acid levels, itching, skin rashes, headache, vertigo, fatigue or feeling unwell, joint pain, increased liver enzymes or increased blood urea nitrogen. Contact your doctor if you get any of the above side effects.
