TROFAME XR CAPSULE contains Trospium which belongs to the group of medicines called Antimuscarinics. TROFAME XR CAPSULE is used to relax muscles of urinary bladder which helps in managing symptoms associated with involuntary loss of urine (wetting) and/or increased frequency/urgency to urinate in patients affected with overactive urinary bladder (syndrome that cause sudden/unstoppable need to urinate).
TROFAME XR CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Trospium. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from urinary retention due to blockage of urinary tract. The medicine is also not indicated for use in patients suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma (eye disorder that cause increased intraocular pressure in the eye), myasthenia gravis (weak muscle), severe digestive tract conditions (such as toxic megacolon), fast/abnormal heart beats, severe liver disease, and/or kidney disorders.
Before taking TROFAME XR CAPSULE, inform your doctor if you suffer from any type of stomach/intestine obstruction, impaired urine flow, nerve damage, overactive thyroid, and/or heart problems (such as coronary artery disease/congestive heart failure).
TROFAME XR CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary.
The medicine is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75-years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking TROFAME XR CAPSULE are dry mouth, constipation, nausea, abdominal pain, indigestion, dry eyes, and/or dry nose. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
