TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET contains Trihexyphenidyl which belongs to the group of medicines called Central Anticholinergics. It is used to improve muscle control in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Parkinson’s disease is a long-term brain disorder that causes muscle stiffness, shaking, slow and unsteady movements, difficulty in walking and loss of balance. It happens due to loss of nerve cells at certain regions of brain (basal ganglia) that controls body movements.
TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET can also be used to control abnormal involuntary muscle movements (such as extreme restlessness or muscle spasms) in the body that is caused due to the use of certain medicines.
Trihexyphenidyl
is a muscle relaxant. It reduces muscle stiffness and relaxes muscles by reducing the activity of a chemical messenger called acetylcholine in the brain. It also restores a balance between certain brain chemicals (dopamine and acetylcholine) that controls body movements.
Before taking TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, high blood pressure, stomach ulcer or problems in your prostate gland. You must also inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems before taking TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET as a precaution.
Talk to your doctor before taking TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET if you have myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) or tardive dyskinesia (unusual movements of face and tongue). Consult your doctor before taking TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The most common side effects of taking TRIHEXY 2MG TABLET are dry mouth, constipation, dizziness, blurred vision, nausea, and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
