TRANCODOL LA INJECTION contains Haloperidol which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics. It is used to manage illnesses that affect the way you think, feel or behave such as schizophrenia.
Symptoms of schizophrenia include feeling confused, seeing, hearing, feeling or smelling things that are not there, believing things that are not true, feeling unusually suspicious, feeling very excited, agitated, enthusiastic, impulsive or hyperactive, very aggressive, hostile or violent. TRANCODOL LA INJECTION is used in patients whose condition has previously been managed with oral route of the medicine.
Your doctor might want you to take several diagnostic tests before or during your management with TRANCODOL LA INJECTION such as ECG (electrocardiogram) or checking the levels of electrolytes such as magnesium or potassium in your blood.
TRANCODOL LA INJECTION is not recommended in patients having heart diseases, Parkinson’s disease, Lewy body dementia, progressive supranuclear palsy, or low potassium levels. Before receiving TRANCODOL LA INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems, liver problems, thyroid problems, blood disorders, low blood pressure, depression, bleeding in the brain, prolactin-dependent tumors, or epilepsy.
TRANCODOL LA INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant women only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the baby. Caution must be exercised while using in breastfeeding women as small amounts of it may pass in breast milk. Avoid consumption of alcohol during management with TRANCODOL LA INJECTION, as it may make you feel sleepy and less alert.
TRANCODOL LA INJECTION is not recommended to use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age and should be used with caution in elderly patients. The most common side effects of receiving TRANCODOL LA INJECTION are feeling depressed, difficulty sleeping, constipation, dry mouth, or weight gain.
