TONOFOLIC XT TABLET is a combination of Ferrous ascorbate, Folic acid, and Zinc sulphate, which belongs to the group of medicines called Haematinics. It is used for the management of anaemia caused by iron deficiency. Iron deficiency anaemia is when your body can't produce enough haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen) due to insufficient iron.
TONOFOLIC XT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with unmanaged cobalamin deficiency, Addisonian pernicious anemia, or malignant disease (except megaloblastic anaemia). Before taking TONOFOLIC XT TABLET, inform your doctor if you have hemochromatosis, hemoglobinopathies, any gastrointestinal diseases or anaemias other than those due to iron deficiency, or if you are receiving repeated blood transfusions.
TONOFOLIC XT TABLET is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking TONOFOLIC XT TABLET are digestive tract problems like abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation, black stools, indigestion, etc. Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse.
