Primary vaccination involves giving the injection at an interval of one month three times, usually at the age of 2, 3, and 4 months. The primary vaccination is followed by a booster dose 1 year after the primary injection during the second year of life. Make sure the child turns up for all the doses to get the full benefit of the vaccine. It should be given by a doctor or nurse, who will make sure you get the right amount. The most common side effects of this vaccine include loss of appetite, nervousness, irritability, abnormal crying, somnolence, headache, vomiting, myalgia, injection site reactions, fever, and malaise. It may also cause other side effects such as insomnia, sleep disturbances, and diarrhea. Consult the doctor if they are bothering you or do not go away.
