STPASE 1500000IU INJECTION contains Streptokinase which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-thrombotic agents. It is used to dissolve blood clots formed within the blood vessels. By dissolving blood clots, it helps in reducing the risk of heart attack, stroke, pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lungs), deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the blood vessels supplying the legs) and arterial thrombosis (blood clot in arteries).
It can also be used for clearing the blockage (occlusion) of arteriovenous cannulae (a device used for blood circulation) as an alternative to surgical intervention when acceptable flow cannot otherwise be achieved.
Before receiving STPASE 1500000IU INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have any bleeding or blood clotting disorders, stroke, stomach inflammation or any internal conditions that can increase of bleeding, or if you have recently undergone a surgery as a precaution.
STPASE 1500000IU INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with uncontrollably high blood pressure and in women who recently delivered a child or suffered a miscarriage. It is also not suitable for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
The most common side effects of receiving STPASE 1500000IU INJECTION are bleeding at the injection site, bruising of the skin, increased bleeding tendency, irregular heartbeat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, stomach pain, headache, fever and chills. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect troubles you.
