STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION is a combination of Potassium citrate and Magnesium citrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Urinary alkalizers and Saline laxatives respectively. It is used in the management of renal tubular acidosis with calcium stones and kidney stones (hypocitraturic calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis and uric acid lithiasis with or without calcium stones).
Renal tubular acidosis is a condition in which the kidneys do not remove acids from the blood into the urine as they usually should. Before taking STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION, your doctor might want you to take certain blood tests and ECG to understand your existing condition.
STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in patients with hyperkalemia (high potassium levels in the blood), gastrointestinal disease, peptic ulcer disease, urinary tract infection and kidney disease.
STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women unless it is clearly advised by the doctor. Safety and effectiveness of STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION in children has not been established yet. The most common side effects of taking STON 1 ORAL SOLUTION are abdominal discomfort, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
