SOSRANE LIQUID contains Isoflurane which belongs to a group of medicines known as General Anaesthetics. SOSRANE LIQUID is used for induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia during surgeries.
General Anaesthesia can be defined as a state of controlled unconsciousness. There is temporary reduction in activity of central nervous system in brain which in result causes complete loss of sensation in body and loss of consciousness, which is required during surgery.
SOSRANE LIQUID is not recommended for use in patients with or family history of rapid rise in body temperature during anaesthesia (a condition known as malignant hyperthermia). SOSRANE LIQUID should be used with caution in patients having liver, heart, kidney or lung problems, increased intracranial pressure, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) or diabetes.
SOSRANE LIQUID is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is clearly necessary. SOSRANE LIQUID should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it passes through the breast milk. SOSRANE LIQUID should be used with caution in children so, consult your child’s doctor for advice.
SOSRANE LIQUID should be used with caution in elderly patients aged above 65 years. The most common side effects of using SOSRANE LIQUID are
agitation, breath holding, chills or shivering, cough, change in mental abilities, spasm of vocal cords, nausea and vomiting. Consult your physician in case any of the symptoms worsen.
