SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL contains Ganciclovir, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antivirals. It is used to manage an infection in the eye called acute herpetic keratitis in adults aged 18 years and over. SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL is not recommended for use if you have any pre-existing cytopenia or a history of cytopenic reactions to other drugs, chemicals or irradiation. Before using SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL, inform your doctor if you have kidney, liver or heart diseases. Remove contact lenses before using this medicine and put them back 15 minutes later. SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL is not recommended for use by children. The most common side effects of using SIMPLOVIR EYE GEL are burning or brief tingling sensations, eye irritation and blurred vision. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
