SERUTAN TABLET contains Pancreatin which belongs to the group of medicines called Gastrointestinal agents. SERUTAN TABLET is used to manage exocrine pancreatic enzyme insufficiency (deficient pancreatic enzyme) in affected individuals. It is also used to manage pancreatitis (swelling of pancreas), flatulence, cystic fibrosis (genetic disorder that affects lungs and digestive system), moderate indigestion in diabetes and irritable bowel syndrome (intestinal disorder). The medicine is also indicated for use as digestive aid, and in pancreas removal.
SERUTAN TABLET is not recommended if you are allergic to Pancreatin. Before taking SERUTAN TABLET, inform your doctor if you have kidney problems (such as renal impairment), and/or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment). SERUTAN TABLET should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is safe to use in breastfeeding women.
The medicine should be used with caution in children & adolescents (aged below 18 years) and in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor. The most common side effects of taking SERUTAN TABLET are stomach pain, bloating, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and/or constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
