SENSODENT K (CLOVE OIL) Dental cream is a medicated dental cream used for tooth sensitivity. It contains Potassium nitrate as active ingredient. It helps in relieving dentinal hypersensitivity (tooth sensitivity).
Potassium nitrate is one of the major ingredients present in most of the desensitizing toothpastes. It acts by moving along the dentinal tubules where it blocks the action of dental nerve fibres which reduces the sensitive response. Potassium nitrate increases extracellular potassium ion concentration this blocks the sensitive stimuli and reduces sensitivity.
