Salytar WS Ointment is used in the management of skin conditions psoriasis and fungal infections. It contains Coal tar and Salicylic acid as active ingredients which helps in removal of dead skin cells.
Coal tar works by decreasing the keratinocyte (type of skin cell which increases in diseased conditions) proliferation and slow down the growth of skin cells. Salicylic acid works by softening the scaly patches and causes shedding of the outer layer of the affected scalp region.
Always use Salytar WS Ointment as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash and dry the affected area. Apply the medicine and gently massage until it disappears. Wash your hands before and after applying the medicine. Use it once or twice daily, preferably in the evening. Consult your doctor if you experience any allergic reactions while using it.
