SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT contains Salicylic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Keratolytic agents. SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT is used manage skin conditions such as acne, blemishes (discolored spot-on skin), skin redness, and other skin diseases.
It is also used to manage dandruff, corn & calluses (thickened layers of skin) in affected individuals.
SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients allergic to salicylic acid. It is also not recommended for use in patients with active inflammation/dermatitis, infection (at the application site), acute viral infection, skin malignancy, and/or tanned skin.
Before applying SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT, inform your doctor if you are scheduled for surgery, and/or suffering from any kidney problems.
SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women. It is considered to be safe to be used in breastfeeding women. Avoid applying the medicine on skin areas which might come in direct contact with infant’s skin.
SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged 1-15 years). It is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years). Consult your doctor before applying the medicine.
The most common side effects of applying SALIWIN 6% OINTMENT are erythema (skin redness), and/or dryness of skin. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
