SALDAY 1000 TABLET contains Sulfasalazine which belongs to the group of medicines called Aminosalicylates. It is used to manage inflammatory bowel disease such as Ulcerative Colitis, Crohn’s disease and rheumatoid arthritis.
Ulcerative Colitis is an inflammatory disease which affects only the large bowel (colon and back passage), the lining of the bowel becomes inflamed (red and swollen) and symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea (may have blood and mucus).
Crohn’s disease is an inflammatory disease which affect any part of the digestive system from the mouth to the anus, most commonly affects the last part of the small bowel and the first part of the large bowel, symptoms include abdominal pain and diarrhea (may be bloody). It can also be used to manage rheumatoid arthritis (swelling, pain, stiffness of joints)
Your doctor might want you to take certain blood, kidney and liver function tests during the management. Drink enough fluids during this management to avoid problems with kidney.
Before taking SALDAY 1000 TABLET inform your doctor if you have porphyria (a rare blood pigment disorder), jaundice, kidney, liver, blood problems, glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, history of recurring chronic infection, asthma, arthritis.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. SALDAY 1000 TABLET is not recommended for use in children below 2 years of age.
The most common side effects of taking SALDAY 1000 TABLET are indigestion, heartburn, nausea, dizziness and headache. Consult your doctor if side effects gets worse.
