RICOVIR L TABLET is a combination of Lamivudine and Tenofovir which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiviral agents. It is used to manage HIV (Human Immunodeficiency virus) infection in adults and children aged above 18 years. It is also used in combination with other antiretroviral agents. HIV is the virus that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) and symptoms include weight loss, fever or night sweats, fatigue and recurrent infections. Prior to the management, your doctor may order several blood tests to assess your kidney and liver function. Before taking this medicine inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, liver disease such as hepatitis B and hepatitis C infection or hepatic dysfunction or lung disease such as tuberculosis. RICOVIR L TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered clearly necessary. RICOVIR L TABLET is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through the breast milk. RICOVIR L TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. RICOVIR L TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients aged 65 years or above. Contact your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of taking RICOVIR L TABLET are nausea, vomiting, headache, diarrhea, stomach pain, bloating, flatulence, fever, tiredness, rash, pain, depression and hair loss.
