Retino A Micro 0.1% Gel is an antiacne agent, which is used as a topical application in the management of acne vulgaris. It contains tretinoin as an active ingredient which is used to manage acne. Tretinoin's effectiveness in managing acne is its ability to modify excessive follicular keratinization. In follicles with an excess of keratinized epithelial cells, comedones develop. Tretinoin promotes cornification cell division and increases corneocyte shedding from the follicle. Tretinoin enhances the follicular epithelia's mitotic activity, which in turn raises the rate at which thin, loosely adhering corneocytes turn over. These procedures expel the comedones's contents and reduce the occurrence of the microcomedo, which is a precursor lesion to acne vulgaris. Always apply Retino A Micro 0.1% Gel as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash and pat your skin dry before applying the gel. Take the necessary amount and apply a thin layer over the affected area and spread evenly. UV light from sunlamps and other unprotected exposures of sunlight should be avoided or minimized when using this gel due to the potential for increased photosensitization.
