RELITIL INJECTION contains Chlorpromazine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotics. It is used to manage the following conditions such as schizophrenia and other psychoses (especially paranoid), mania and hypomania, anxiety psychomotor agitation excitement, violent or dangerously impulsive behaviour, intractable hiccup and nausea, vomiting of terminal illness (where other medicines have failed or are not available). It is also used to manage schizophrenia and autism (in children).
It is not recommended for use in patients with CNS depression, bone marrow depression and Phaeochromocytoma. Consult your doctor for advice before receiving the medicine.
Before receiving this medicine inform your doctor if you have heart diseases, liver disease or kidney problems, thyroid, epilepsy, and parkinson’s disease.
Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctors before receiving this medicine. Tell your doctor if you will be exposed to extreme heat, or to insecticide poisons while you are taking this medicine.
The most common side effects are drowsiness, dry mouth or stuffy nose, blurred vision, constipation and impotence. Consult your doctor if any of the above side effects gets worse.
