RAPITUS SYRUP contains Levodropropizine, which belongs to a group of medicines called Cough suppressants. It is used in the symptomatic management of non-productive cough (dry cough). A cough is a reflex action to clear your airways free of mucus and irritants such as dust or smoke. Cough can be caused due to smoke, allergies or upper respiratory tract infections, gastroesophageal reflux disease, asthma, bronchitis, other lung diseases, etc. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with respiratory disorders such as bronchorrhea or bronchial hyper secretion (increased production of sputum (mucus) and Kartagener's syndrome or ciliary dyskinesia (respiratory disorders that reduce the ability to expel mucus). RAPITUS SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease and diabetes mellitus. Avoid taking RAPITUS SYRUP with food. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use by pregnant women. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use by breastfeeding mothers, as it may cause decreased muscle tone and vomiting in the breastfed baby. RAPITUS SYRUP is not recommended for use by children below 2 years of age. Use RAPITUS SYRUP with caution in elderly patients of age 65 or above. Contact your doctor if any of your side effects get worse or persist.
