PHENSEDYL DX SYRUP is a combination of Chlorpheniramine and Dextromethorphan which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines and Antitussives respectively. It is used to relieve dry cough due to throat irritation, sneezing and running nose. It is also used to manage hay fever or upper respiratory allergies such as sneezing, runny nose, itchy, watery eyes, itching of the nose and throat. Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking this medicine as this may lead to unwanted effects. PHENSEDYL DX SYRUP is not recommended for use in patients with or at risk of developing, respiratory failure (Ex. chronic obstructive airways disease or pneumonia, or an exacerbation of asthma). PHENSEDYL DX SYRUP should be used with caution in patients with lung disease, severe kidney or heart diseases. PHENSEDYL DX SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. PHENSEDYL DX SYRUP should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years or above). Contact your doctor before taking. The most common side effects of this medicine are sedation, somnolence, disturbance in attention, abnormal coordination, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, blurred vision, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, abdominal discomfort, fatigue.
