OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP is a combination of Cefpodoxime and Clavulanic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Cephalosporins and Beta-lactamase inhibitors, respectively. OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP is used in children to manage mild to moderate infections such as otitis media (middle ear infection), nose & throat infections, respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, reproductive tract infection, and skin infection.

OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP is not recommended for use in children allergic to Cefpodoxime, Clavulanic acid, and/or other cephalosporin group of antibiotics. It is also not recommended for use in children suffering from galactose intolerance, Lapp lactase deficiency (lactose intolerance), and glucose-galactose malabsorption (condition marked by body’s inability to absorb glucose and galactose sugars).

Before administering OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP, inform your doctor if the child has previous history of hypersensitivity reactions to medicines such as cefpodoxime, other cephalosporins, penicillin, and/or have kidney problems (such as mild/moderate/severe renal impairment), and liver problems (such as hepatic insufficiency/impairment).

OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children

(aged below 12 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.

The most common side effects of administering OPOX CV 50MG DRY SYRUP in child are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, headache, vaginal fungal infections, and/or vulvovaginal infections. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
