OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION contains Olopatadine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihistamines. It is used to manage signs and symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis. Seasonal allergic conjunctivitis is an eye inflammation caused due to exposure of eye(s) towards various allergens such as pollens, dusts or molds etc. Symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis may include eye redness, itching or irritation with excessive tear production.
Olopatadine is a H1 histamine receptor antagonist. When applied to the eyes, it blocks the release of certain chemicals (Ex. histamines) in the eyes that causes allergic reactions. As a result, it manages the onset of allergic reactions in the eye and provides relief from the unpleasant symptoms associated with allergic conjunctivitis (such as eye itching, irritation and inflammation).
Use OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION as advised by your physician. If you wear soft contact lenses, make sure to remove them before using OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION and wait for at least 10 minutes before reinsertion. Leave a time gap of at least 5 minutes before applying other eye drops or ointments after applying OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION.
Before using OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION inform your doctor if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby. OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women and in children aged below 3 years.
OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION may make your vision blur after application. Therefore, do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines until your vision becomes clear. The most common side effects of using OLOZEST OPHTHALMIC SOLUTION are eye pain or irritation, eye dryness, abnormal sensation in the eyes, headache, dry nose and changes in taste. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
