OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION contains Octreotide which belongs to the group of medicines called Octapeptides. It is used to manage acromegaly (a condition in which the body produces too much growth hormone), neuroendocrine tumors in the gut (Ex. appendix, small intestine or colon) and pituitary tumors that make too much thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH). OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION is also used to manage complications after surgery of the pancreas, to stop bleeding and protect from re-bleeding from ruptured gastro-esophageal varices (abnormal veins) in patients suffering from cirrhosis (chronic liver disease) and to relieve symptoms associated with excess production of certain hormones and other related substances by the stomach, bowels or pancreas. Before receiving OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have gallstones, diabetes or a history of vitamin B12 deprivation. OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION should be used in pregnant women only if considered clearly necessary. Women of child-bearing capability should use an effective contraceptive method during management. OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION is not recommended for use among breastfeeding women. There is little experience with the use of OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION in children so, consult your child’s doctor for advice. During management, your doctor may wish to check your thyroid, liver and pancreatic enzyme function periodically. The most common side effects of receiving OCTRIDE DEPOT 30MG INJECTION are sudden back pain, changes in heart rate, appetite or weight, yellow skin and eyes, slow heartbeat, etc. Contact your doctor for advice if any of the symptoms worsen.
