It is used for the management of chest pain associated with angina pectoris due to coronary artery disease. Angina is a condition which causes discomfort and chest pain that keeps coming back because of reduced oxygen and blood supply to the heart. Symptoms include chest pain, difficulty in breathing, dizziness, tiredness etc.
Along with NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH, your doctor may advise you to make certain lifestyle changes such as quitting alcohol and smoking, eating a healthy diet, managing weight and improving your sleep pattern.
NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH is not recommended for use in patients having heart diseases, low blood pressure, low blood volume, anaemia, glaucoma, bleeding in the brain, increased pressure on the brain, acute angina attack or if you are taking medicines to manage erectile function (sildenafil) or increased pressure in the lungs (riociguat).
Before using NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH, inform your doctor if you have lung, liver or kidney disease, low levels of oxygen in the blood, low body temperature, malnourishment or insufficient flow of blood to the brain.
NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH should be used with caution in pregnant or breast-feeding women, consult your doctor for advice before using. NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH is not recommended for use in children and should be used with caution in elderly patients.
The common side effects of using NITRODERM TTS 5MG PATCH are nausea, vomiting and headache, reddening or itching of skin at the site of placement. Consult your doctor if the symptoms worsen or don't improve.
