MYCAMINE 50MG INJECTION contains Micafungin which belongs to the group of medicine called Antifungal agents. It is used to manage systemic fungal infections such as invasive candidiasis. It can also be used in managing fungal infections of the food pipe where management with an injection is considered appropriate.
It also helps in managing fungal infections among patients who have undergone bone-marrow transplantation and in patients who are risk of developing neutropenia (low WBC count in blood).
MYCAMINE 50MG INJECTION should be used under careful medical supervision. Make sure to take the full course of the therapy to achieve better control over infection. Failure or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.
Talk to your doctor before receiving MYCAMINE 50MG INJECTION if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if have anemia or any other blood related problems as a precaution. MYCAMINE 50MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. It should be used in pregnant women only if considered necessary by the physician.
The most common side effects of receiving MYCAMINE 50MG INJECTION are pain and swelling at the site of injection, headache, loss or disturbed taste sensation, tiredness, fever, chills, shortness of breath, diarrhea, stomach pain and high or low blood pressure. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
