MODLIP AM TABLET is a combination of S(-)Amlodipine and Atorvastatin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives and Antihyperlipidemics respectively. It is used to manage hypertension (high blood pressure) and hyperlipidemia (high blood cholesterol levels) in patients who have both co-existing medical conditions. It can also be used to manage the risk of heart attack, stroke, angina and other heart problems.
Before taking MODLIP AM TABLET inform your doctor if you have any lung, liver, kidney or heart problems (apart from hypertension such as heart failure). You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, thyroid disorders, muscle problems or alcoholism as a precaution.
MODLIP AM TABLET is not suitable for use in patients with severe hypotension (low blood pressure). Do not take MODLIP AM TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor.
Along with the management, you must follow a cholesterol-lowering diet, lifestyle changes and regular physical activity as instructed by your doctor to achieve better results. Avoid consuming alcohol or grapefruit juice while taking MODLIP AM TABLET as it may make this medicine less effective.
Talk to your doctor before taking MODLIP AM TABLET if you are already taking any antibiotics (such as Fusidic acid) to manage any existing infections. The most common side effects of taking MODLIP AM TABLET are swelling of ankles or other body parts, headache, dizziness, sleepiness, tiredness, constipation, muscle cramps, throat pain, neck pain, joint pain and back pain.
