MINIRIN MELT 60MCG TABLET contains
Desmopressin
which belongs to the group of medicines called Synthetic antidiuretic peptide. It is used to manage cranial diabetes insipidus (occurs when there's not enough AVP in the body to regulate urine production). It also used to manage primary nocturnal enuresis (bed wetting from the age of 5) and nocturia in adults up to 65 years (night-time urine production exceeding bladder capacity).
Desmopressin works by reducing the amount of water that is eliminated in the urine. It enhances the reabsorption of water in the kidneys. Avoid drinking large amounts of water or fluid during this medication that leads to a build-up of water resulting in dilution of the salt in the body and may cause a serious problems or convulsions.
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you are dehydrated due to vomiting, diarrhea or systemic infections. There is an increased risk of pre-eclampsia during this medication, so inform your doctor if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant. MINIRIN MELT 60MCG TABLET should be used with caution in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice.
The most common side effect of taking MINIRIN MELT 60MCG TABLET are headache, stomach pain swelling of ankles. Consult your doctor for advice if you experience the above side effects for a long duration.
