METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET contains
Methimazole
which belongs to the group of medicines called Antithyroid Agents. It is used to manage overactive thyroid gland (hyperthyroidism) in adults. It is also used to prepare for thyroidectomy (removal of the thyroid gland).
METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET is not recommended if you have history of acute pancreatitis (severe abdominal pain). METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver, kidney disease, large goitre (swelling in the front neck). Consult your doctor before taking it. METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET is generally not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is considered clearly necessary. METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine. The most common side effects of taking METHIMEZ 10MG TABLET are anorexia (eating disorder), muscle pain, dizziness, drowsiness, neuritis, edema, numbness hair loss and heartburn. Contact your doctor if any of the above side effects worsen or persists for a longer duration.
