MESALINE 400 TABLET contains Mesalamine which belongs to the group of medicines called Salicylates. MESALINE 400 TABLET is used to manage mild to moderate ulcerative colitis (a chronic inflammatory bowel disease) in affected individuals.
MESALINE 400 TABLET is also used to reduce symptoms of ulcerative colitis which generally occurs as diarrhoea, rectal bleeding, and/or stomach pain in affected individuals.
MESALINE 400 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Mesalamine, salicylates (such as acetylsalisylic acid), and/or sulphasalazine. It is also not recommended for use in patients with serious kidney/liver disease.

MESALINE 400 TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary. MESALINE 400 TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents aged below 18 years (due to lack of data on safety and efficacy of the medicine). It is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking MESALINE 400 TABLET are indigestion, abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, itching, and/or rash. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
