MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET is a combination of Isoniazid and Rifampicin which belongs to the group of medicines called
Antitubercular agents
. It is used to manage tuberculosis and bacterial infection of membranes covering the brain, and spinal cord. It is also used to manage contagious disease of skin, nerves, mucous membrane, and other conditions in affected individuals.
MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Isoniazid, and/or Rifampicin. Before taking MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you are scheduled for any upcoming surgery, and/or suffering from pre-existing diseases, liver problems (such as cirrhosis of liver)/kidney problems (such as renal insufficiency).
MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET should be used with caution during pregnancy and in women planning for pregnancy. It is also advised to be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.
MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking MACOX PLUS 450/300MG TABLET are hypersensitivity reaction (associated with signs such as skin rash, red itchy welt, and/or shortness of breath), loss of vision/hearing, flu-like syndrome, and/or arthralgia (joint stiffness). Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
