LEUREN 11.25MG INJECTION contains Leuprolide which belongs to the group of medicines called Gonadotropin Releasing Hormone (GnRH) Agonist. It is used to manage endometriosis, relieving pain and reducing endometriotic lesions. It is also used for preoperative hematologic improvement in women having fibroids (abnormal growth in uterus) induced anaemia for whom hormonal suppression is considered necessary for three months. It is also used in children to manage central precocious puberty (CPP).
Endometriosis is a chronic disease in which a tissue like the uterus lining grows outside the uterus, resulting in pain and/or infertility. It is characterized by symptoms such as pain during periods, pelvic pain, pain associated with sexual intercourse, painful urination, fatigue, depression, bloating and nausea.
Central precocious puberty (CPP) is the early onset of sexual characteristics in girls (generally earlier than 8 years) and boys (generally earlier than 9 years of age in boys) due to activation of pubertal pituitary gonadotropins. It may result in diminished adult height.
Do not receive LEUREN 11.25MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Leuprolide acetate, GnRH or GnRH agonist analogs.
Before receiving this medicine, inform your doctor if you have liver impairment, kidney impairment or undiagnosed abnormal uterine bleeding.
LEUREN 11.25MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 18 years) for endometriosis and fibroids.
It is not recommended for use in children (below 2 years) for central precocious puberty (CPP). It is not recommended for use in elderly patients (above 65 years). Consult your doctor before receiving.
