LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET contains Lamotrigine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-epileptics. It is used along with other medicines to manage epilepsy (phase of uncontrolled electrical signals in the brain, causing seizures). LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET is also used in adults for the long-term management of bipolar I disorder to prolong the time between mood episodes in people who have been managed for mood episodes with other medicine. Bipolar disorder is a mental disorder that causes extreme mood swings including emotional highs (mania or hypomania) and lows (depression). Your doctor will monitor your management and may advise you to avoid sunlight or protect yourself against the sun (Ex. use of a sunscreen and to wear protective clothing). Before taking LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have or had depression, heart problems or mood disorders, if you had aseptic meningitis after taking LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET or if you are taking pills to manage pregnancy. LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant or breastfeeding women. LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET is not recommended for use for children (under 2 years of age) so, consult your child’s doctor for advice. Patients taking LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET may have thoughts of self-harm. If at any time you have these thoughts, immediately see your doctor. The most common side effects of taking LAMETEC DT 25MG TABLET are dizziness, shaking, headache, diarrhea, sleep or vision problems, rash, etc. Call your doctor if any of the symptoms get worse.
