KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET is a combination of Metformin and Saxagliptin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. It is used to manage type II diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and management with other conventional medicines does not result in adequate sugar control. It is used as an adjunct therapy along with proper diet and exercise to achieve better results.
Type II diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease characterized by abnormally high levels of glucose in the blood. It is caused either due to inadequate production of a hormone called insulin (produced by pancreas to metabolize glucose) in the body or due to inadequate sensitivity of body cells to the actions of insulin.
Take KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET preferably with meals. During therapy with KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET, your doctor might regularly monitor your blood sugar levels and kidney function to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.
Before taking KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have problems in blood circulation or are severely dehydrated due to excessive vomiting or diarrhea recently.
KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe uncontrollable diabetes. It is also not suitable for use in patients with alcoholism and in patients with severe systemic infections.
Do not take KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of taking KOMBIGLYZE XR 5/500MG TABLET are nausea, diarrhea, stomach pain, constipation, loss of appetite and metallic taste.
