It is used in the management of renal tubular acidosis with calcium stones and kidney stones (hypocitraturic calcium oxalate nephrolithiasis and uric acid lithiasis with or without calcium stones).
Renal tubular acidosis is a condition in which the kidneys do not remove acids from the blood into the urine as they usually should.
