JUSTOZA 10 TABLET is a prescription medicine used to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus by improving blood sugar control. It is prescribed only when diet and lifestyle changes does not result in adequate blood glucose control. It contains an antidiabetic ingredient called Dapagliflozin which is Sodium-Glucose Co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) Inhibitor. It works by blocking the glucose reabsorption in the kidneys, leading to excretion of glucose, sodium (salt) and water from the body via the urine. JUSTOZA 10 TABLET is also prescribed for management of heart failure and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It reduces the risk of hospitalization due to heart failure and slows the progression of diabetic and non-diabetic kidney disease. By reducing fluid retention, protecting kidney function, and improving cardiovascular outcomes, this tablet serves a dual purpose in high-risk diabetic patients. JUSTOZA 10 TABLET is generally taken once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day. It is suitable for adults and elderly patients but is not recommended for children under 10 years. Regular monitoring of blood sugar, kidney function, and hydration status is advised. JUSTOZA 10 TABLET is not advised during pregnancy or breastfeeding, as its safety has not been established in these conditions. Common side effects include urinary tract infections, genital infections, increased urination, low blood pressure, and dehydration. In rare cases, it may cause serious conditions like ketoacidosis or acute kidney injury.
