ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION contains Isoflurane which belongs to a group of medicines known as General Anaesthetics. ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION is used for induction and maintenance of general anaesthesia during surgeries.
General Anaesthesia can be defined as a state of controlled unconsciousness. There is temporary reduction in activity of central nervous system in brain which in result causes complete loss of sensation in body and loss of consciousness, which is required during surgery.
ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION is not recommended for use in patients with or family history of rapid rise in body temperature during anaesthesia (a condition known as malignant hyperthermia). ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION should be used with caution in patients having liver, heart, kidney or lung problems, increased intracranial pressure, myasthenia gravis (muscle weakness) or diabetes.
ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless it is clearly necessary. ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it passes through the breast milk. ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION should be used with caution in children so, consult your child’s doctor for advice.
ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION should be used with caution in elderly patients aged above 65 years. The most common side effects of using ISIFRANE 250 LIQUID FOR INHALATION are
agitation, breath holding, chills or shivering, cough, change in mental abilities, spasm of vocal cords, nausea and vomiting. Consult your physician in case any of the symptoms worsen.
