Liv 52 Syrup is a Ayurvedic formulation which is used to strengthen the liver. It is used for the management of pre and early cirrhotic conditions, alcoholic liver disease, viral hepatitis, liver damage due to radiation therapy, loss of appetite, and anorexia.
It also aids in liver disorders including fatty liver. Liv 52 Syrup is used as an adjuvant during prolonged illness and while taking drugs that affect the liver such as statins, drugs used in chemotherapy, anti-tubercular drugs and antiretrovirals. It contains herbs like chicory and caper bush as active ingredients which have antioxidants and hepatoprotective qualities.
Chicory also called Kasani, protects the liver against alcohol toxicity. It also exhibits antioxidant properties by removing free radicals from the body. The Caper Bush also called as Himsara, is a potent hepatoprotective agent which protects the liver cells and promotes regeneration and also keeps the liver enzymes in balance. It has flavonoids which impart antioxidant properties to it.
