GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE) contains Teriparatide which belongs to the group of medicines called Bone anabolic agents. GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE) is used in adults to manage osteoporosis to make bones stronger and reduce the risk of bone fracture which generally occurs more commonly in women (after menopause) than in men.
GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE) is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Teriparatide. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hypercalcaemia (high calcium level in blood), certain bone diseases, Paget’s disease (condition that disrupts the replacement of old bone tissue with new bone tissue), and severe kidney problems.
Before receiving GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE), inform your doctor if you have liver disease (such as hepatic impairment), and/or kidney problems (such as moderate renal impairment, kidney stones).
GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE) is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 80 years and above) after consulting your doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving GEMTIDE PREFILLED 600MCG PEN(DEVICE) are pain in limb, muscle cramps, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, headache, and/or dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
