DOPAR 200MG INJECTION contains Dopamine which belongs to the group of medicines called Sympathomimetic Agents. It stimulates the heart and improves blood supply to the vital organs such as heart, kidney, brain or gut.
It is used to manage shock (sudden loss of blood supply) and hypotension (low blood pressure) that is caused due to heart attack, open heart surgery, trauma (serious injury), poisoning or kidney failure. It can also restore heart functions in patients suffering from congestive heart failure (heart failure caused due to fluid buildup in the heart).
Before receiving DOPAR 200MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have any heart, kidney or liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have diabetes, glaucoma, enlarged prostate or thyroid problems.
Patients having an history of circulatory problems (like atherosclerosis, mitral value stenosis, etc.) must be carefully monitored for any changes in skin color or temperature of their fingers or toes after receiving DOPAR 200MG INJECTION. In case of any changes, they must consult their doctor immediately.
DOPAR 200MG INJECTION should not be used in patients with severe irregular or fast heartbeat. It should be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician.
The most common side effects of receiving DOPAR 200MG INJECTION are irregular heartbeat, changes in blood pressure, dizziness, headache, and difficulty in breathing. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect trouble you. You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe palpitations (racing heartbeat).
