Cranberry extract manages the urinary tract infection (UTI) by binding to the fimbria (tiny hair like projections) of the E. coli bacteria which is the major cause for urinary tract infection. Thereby it manages the attachment of the bacteria to the surface of urinary tract. D-mannose inhibits the attachment of the bacteria to the urinary tract by binding to the pili.
