COSVATE SOR OINMENT is a combination of Calcipotriol and Clobetasol
which belongs to the group of medicines called Topical Corticosteroids. It is indicated for the topical management of plaque psoriasis. Plaque psoriasis (psoriasis vulgaris) is an autoimmune disease that causes cells to reproduce very quickly which causes thick, scaly patches called plaques on the skin.
COSVATE SOR OINMENT is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver and kidney disease, skin atrophy, viral infections such as chicken pox or measles, skin infections and other skin diseases.
COSVATE SOR OINMENT is intended for external use only. Managed areas need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Avoid applying this medicine around your eyes, including eyelids. Do not apply COSVATE SOR OINMENT on the face.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women. Therefore, it should be used during pregnancy unless the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus. There is no clinical trial experience in children. Children may demonstrate greater susceptibility to systemic steroid related adverse effects due to a larger skin surface area to body weight ratio as compared to adults. The most common side effects of COSVATE SOR OINMENT are skin irritation and mild aggravation of the disease.
