COLIHENZ INJECTION contains Citicoline which belongs to a group of medicines called Psychostimulants. COLIHENZ INJECTION is used in adults to manage disturbances of consciousness that occurs due to head injuries, brain operation, and acute cerebral infraction.
COLIHENZ INJECTION is also used to manage Alzheimer’s disease (brain disease that affects memory and thinking skills) and memory loss due to Parkinson’s disease (age related degenerative brain condition). It is also indicated for use in the recovery phase of cerebral infarction (poor blood supply to the brain) in affected individuals.
COLIHENZ INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Citicoline. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hypertonia (muscle overactivity), persistent intracranial haemorrhages (bleeding inside the brain), and/or severe kidney disease.
Before receiving COLIHENZ INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have a history of epilepsy/fits, suffering from depression, scheduled for a surgery, and/or have liver disorders.
COLIHENZ INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary.
COLIHENZ INJECTION is advised to be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) only if it is clearly necessary. It is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving COLIHENZ INJECTION are diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, rash, insomnia (sleeplessness), and/or occurrence/intensification of numbness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
