CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION contains Citicoline which belongs to a group of medicines called Psychostimulants. CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION is used in adults to manage disturbances of consciousness that occurs due to head injuries, brain operation, and acute cerebral infraction.
CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION is also used to manage Alzheimer’s disease (brain disease that affects memory and thinking skills) and memory loss due to Parkinson’s disease (age related degenerative brain condition). It is also indicated for use in the recovery phase of cerebral infarction (poor blood supply to the brain) in affected individuals.
CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Citicoline. It is also not recommended for use in patients suffering from hypertonia (muscle overactivity), persistent intracranial haemorrhages (bleeding inside the brain), and/or severe kidney disease.
Before receiving CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have a history of epilepsy/fits, suffering from depression, scheduled for a surgery, and/or have liver disorders.
CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if it is clearly necessary.
CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION is advised to be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) only if it is clearly necessary. It is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving CITINOVA 250MG INJECTION are diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, rash, insomnia (sleeplessness), and/or occurrence/intensification of numbness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
