It improves your condition by delaying progression of the disease.
Cidofovir blocks the replication of viruses by inhibiting the viral DNA polymerase enzyme, stopping the virus from making new DNA. This helps control viral infections, especially in people with weakened immune systems.
Before receiving CIDNAVIR INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have diabetes mellitus. CIDNAVIR INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with kidney disease.
CIDNAVIR INJECTION is generally not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women and in children (aged below 18 years) unless advised by the doctor. Men and women should practice barrier birth control methods during and for 3-6 months after treatment with CIDNAVIR INJECTION.
The most common side effects of receiving CIDNAVIR INJECTIONare headache, nausea or vomiting, rash and weakness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
